This book opens a new "green" collection "The Historic-Literary Monuments" of the series "Bielaruski Knihazbor" (Belarusian Book Collection). A series is developed in the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. In "The Belarusian Annals and Chronicles" for the first time in translation into Belarusian language are published "The Byhavets Chronicle", "The Annals of Lithuanian Grand Dukes", the Burkulabau Chronicle, the Vitsyebsk Annals, the Magilyou Chronicle of Surta and Trubnitski, and also fragments of "The Story of Temporary Years" and the Galitsk-Valynsk Annals.
