In the book, on a rich actual material the major events are investigated which occurred on the eve and within the Great Domestic War at the territory of Belarus. Using a huge amount of already published literature and earlier unknown archival documentary materials, mass heroism of the Belarusian people on fronts of war is covered on numerous examples, the aggressive policy of the German occupation authorities and the daily life of the peaceful population in conditions of the Nazi regime are shown, there are revealed a self-denying struggle of patriots in partisan lines and underground, participation of the Belarusians and other natives of the republic in the anti-Hitler coalition troops and European movement of Resistance, in heroic work in the Soviet rear and restoration of economy destroyed by the war. The book is addressed to a wide circle of the readers.
