Theoretical and experimental basics of formation of shrinkage porosity in eutectic alloys. Part 1: Physical and mathematical model. pp. 21--23
Summary: A physical model of porosity formation is developed for the eutectic type alloys, that do not have a tendency to dissolve large amounts of hydrogen. Assuming that porosity occurs as a result of liquid deficit into the intergrane volumes after intergrowth of eutectic cells and shortage of melt filtration. Mathematical model is based on the physical model and allows to evaluate influence of such factors as casting thickness, hydrostatic pressure, temperature interval of crystallization, mold initial temperature, temperature of pouring alloy, melt dynamic viscosity, coefficient of filtration through two phase zone upon magnitude and location of porosity zone.

Development of high-performance low energy consumption self-oscillation drives of oscillating machine working parts. pp. 27--30
Summary: A classification of self-oscillating systems is provided in this paper. It is shown that conditions for onset of self-oscillations in drives with oscillating working parts are defined by engine characteristics and dependence of resistance force on working part velocity. The methodology of design of drives with self-oscillating motion of working parts is developed.

High-energy material processing methods (laser, electric erosion, magnetic field, high-pressure water stream, electrothermics). pp. 39--48
Summary: The review paper describes issues of up-to-date high technologies which are combined considering the principle of a high specific capacity of power consumption and short-time exposure. They include laser and electroerosion technologies, magnetic-pulse stamping, processing by means of high-pressure liquid stream and electrothermics. The discussion is made of the technologies rather well mastered by machine-building enterprises and the development of which is directly associated with the activity of the Physical-Technical Institute of NAS of Belarus (patents, know-how, State Premiums, etc.). They are in demand and very promising for industrial introduction.
Summary: The research work contains the analysis of the reflective characteristics of a hydrocarbon deposit in two-frequency interaction mode. According to this analysis, there are recommendations on the elaboration of radio search and identification systems for hydrocarbon deposits in two-frequency interaction mode.

Modelling effective irregular multisectional coupled-cavity TWT. pp. 55--63
Summary: On the basis of equivalent six-poles, the mathematical model of the analysis and synthesis of irregular multisectional coupled-cavity TWT is developed. The nonlinear relativistic equations of motion are used. Back rediation is taken into account. The results of optimization are presented. It is shown that in irregular three-sectional coupled-cavity TWT, the electronic efficiency is as high as 60%, and gain factor is as high as 35 dB. The features of formation of frequency characteristics of irregular multisectional TWT are mentioned.
Summary: A general method for automatic feature recognition from boundary representations of the solid models is suggested. The method is based on decomposition of the object by means of syntactical relationships analysis between volumetric components and following mapping syntactical structure of the object onto semantic level.
