Alkaline activation of soils and undersoil rocks. pp. 9--12

Summary: Alkaline activation of soils and undersoil layers has been studied. It has been shown that activation of thermotreated samples promotes increasing of sorption capacity and specific surfase of obtained adsorbents and the reasons have been considered. It has been stated that sorption capacity and specific surfase of the samples depend on degree of dissolution of after activation solution before its neutralization. Explanation of changing of structural characteristics of synthesized porous materials has been givan from a point of view of their physical properties and their interaction with alkalines.

Some ways of control of selectivity of ISE reversible to metal cations. pp. 13--17

Summary: Effect of the ion-exchanger and plasticizer nature on the selectivity of film ISEs reversible to alkaline and alkaline earth metals cations have been studied. It has been established that change in selectivity achieved about four orders of magnitude due to the variation of the ion-exchanger nature and about six orders of magnitude due to the variation of the nature of the plasticizer. These findings allows to control the selectivity and cross-sensitivity of ISEs by means of the rational choice of the ion-exchanger and plasticizer and are of essential practical interest for creation of the «electronic tongue» -- type intellectual multisensor systems.

Synthesis of novel highly lipophylic quaternary ammonium salts having controlled steric accessibility of their cationic center. pp. 53--57

Summary: A scries of novel highly lipophilic quaternary ammonium salts (QAS) has been designed and prepared. It has been shown that trialkyl(2,3,4-trialkoxybenzyl)ammonium and trialkyl(3,4,5-trialkoxybcnzyl)ammonium QAS derivatives can be prepared from pyrogallol and methyl gallate, respectively, in good overall yield. When more than one methyl group at quaternary nitrogen atom is present, these compounds demonstrate increased affinity for double-charged anions. The latter fact opens up possibilities for their use as electroactive compounds in ion-selective electrodes.

Preparation and antigen-binding activity of monoclonal antibodies to human thyroid peroxidase. pp. 60--66

Summary: Highly specific monoclonal antibodies (MAB) to human thyroid peroxidase (TPO) giving no cross-reactions with structurally related antigens (thyroglobulin and peroxidases from other sources) have been obtained. The MABs retained antigen-binding capacity after the immobilization onto a solid phase and the chemical modification with a biotin derivative. It has been shown that MAB clones A1 and F8 interact with the spatially separated conformational epitopes of TPO and thus TPO has the ability to associate with the two MABs simultaneously. In terms of the epitope specificity, MAT F8 are similar to antibodies from the blood of patients with autoimmune thyroiditis. It has been concluded that the characteristics of MAB binding activity meet the requirements of an affinity chromatography and immunoanalysis.

Summary: The effect of tetrazole (T) and its 5-substituted derivatives 5-aminotetrazole (AmT), 5-benzyltetrazole (BT), 1,3-di(5-tetrazolyl)propane (DTP), 1,2-di(5-tetrazolyl)ethane (DTE) and 5-(2-di-methylaminoethyl)-tetrazole (DMAET) on the peroxidase-catalyzed oxidation of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) and guaiacol has been studied at 20 °C in phosphatecitrate buffer (pH 6.4 and 7.2). Activating effect of the used compounds was characterised by the coefficient a, M-1 that decreased in the TMB oxidation as follows: BT>DTP>T>DTE>DMAET from 828 (BT) up to 62 M-1 (DTE) at pH 7.2. Peroxidase-catalyzed oxidation of guaiacol was weakly activated by AmT and DMAET, tetrazole was indifferent in reaction, but DTE, DTP and BT in concentrations higher that of substrate inhibited the peroxidase process.

Fulvic- and humic-acid fractions differed in solubility and mobility in a soil medium have been separated. Differentiation of soils on the 90Sr mobility in accordance with portion of radionuclide in the immobile organic fractions has been fulfilled. New types of organic and organomineral additives decreased mobility and biological availability of the 90Sr have been suggested on a base of obtained data.
