A role of hydroxocomplexes in spectrophotometrical iron (III) determination in aqueous solutions. pp. 15--17

Summary: An effect of iron (III) species in aqueous solution on its spectrophotometrical determination using sulphosalisylic acid has been investigated. If iron is in a form of polynuclear hydroxocomplexes in aqueous solution a formation of its complex with sulphosalisylate in alkaline media is shown to be process, so an analytical determination of iron in such a solution is complicated. It has been also shown that destruction of polynuclear hydroxocomlexes by acidifying offers obtaining true value of iron (III) concentration in a solution. In the presence of sulphosalisylic acid the hydroxocomlexes destruction process is accelerated substantially in a solution.

Effect of reaction products on isopropyl alcohol dehydration on fibrous sulfocationite FIBAN-1. pp. 24--28

Summary: A pulse technique has been applied to study a reaction of 2-propanol dehydration over FIBAN sulfonic acid cation exchangers. Propen has been shown to have no effect on the reaction, while water influenced substantially depending on its concentration in FIBAN sulfonic acid cation exchangers. The kinetics at a hige water content indicate a carbonium ion mechanism and in the case of low water content a concerted mechanism is observed.

Influence of hydrogen peroxide on optical properties of a silver sol. pp. 29--32

Summary: Effect of H2O2 on optical properties of silver sols has been investigated. This effect was found to be associated with the changes in a size, a shape and a morphology of silver particles in the initial sol due to redox-reactions resulting, on the one hand, in the silver dispersed up to subcolloidal sizes and, on the other hand, in the particle growth and crystallization.

Sorption of some biologically active electrolytes by carboxylic cation-exchanger. pp. 38--42

Summary: Sorption of three anticancer electrolytes: chlorides of spyrobromin and prospydin and bromide of oxythiamin from water on two carboxylic cation-exchanger in H+-form -- MKO end KB-4 has been investigated and described by an analog of Langmuirs equation. The sorption parameters of the process and Gibbs energy of sorption has been calculated. The reduction of their sizes at transition from MKO to KB-4 is explained. The energy decrease of hydrophobic interactions at transition from spyrobromin and prospydin to oxythiamin is accompanied by strong increase of mobility the latter in a phase of MKO, that confirmed by measurements of effective diffusion coefficient and their release from the cation-exchanger phase.

A form of hydroxides particles and their crystallization degree have been shown to play a great role in a process of a structure formation. It has been stated that the ultrasound treatment effectively influence an increase of sample specific surface, and the vibration treatment effects substantially a sample growth and their sorption capacity. Structural changes data for the hydroxides has been explained in terms of a theory and a mechanism of the changes has been revealed.

Isolation, properties and immunoaffinic chromatography of proisulin impurities in commercial porcine insulin preparations. pp. 72--78

Summary: Porcine proisulin has been isolated from a secondary fraction of the industrial process of insulin purification. The native prohormone and its damaged molecular form with the cleavaged Arg63-Gly64 bond prevailed in the isolated preparation. According to the quality gradation accepted in immunoassay technology the purified proinsulin met the following requirements: suitable for labelling, immunizaition and standard preparation. Murine monoclonal antibodies to proinsulin have been obtained and characterized. A purified product of one of the clones was immobilized on CNBr-activated Sepharose. An interaction of the isolated proinsulin and the prohormone in insulin fractions with the immunoaffinity column has been studied. In principle, the possibility was shown for contaminant proinsulin to be completely removed from commercial insulin preparations by immunoaffinic chromatography.

An effect of 3'-fluorin-3'dezoxy analogues of trimer of (2'-5')oligoadenyl acid on fagocital activity of macrofags: stereochemical aspect. pp. 79--84

Summary: The influence of 5'-triphosphorylated fluoro-3'-deoxyanalogs of 2-5A and its 5'-dephosphorylated derivatives on phagocytosis of macrophages, using mouse macrophage-like cell line P388D1 was investigated. In summary, we have demonstrated that 3'-fluoro-3'-deoxy analogs of 2-5A and 2-5A core enhanced the phagocytic chemiluminescence. The conformational features of the sugarphospate backbone play the important role in the binding fluorodeoxy analogs with p3A3 receptor. The 2-5A-receptor exists on the mouse macrophage like cell line P388D1 and includes two binding sites with the dissociation constants Kd1 and Kd2 at about 4•10-7 M and 1.4•10-9 M, respectively. The conclusion can be drawn that 2-5A-receptor prefers a trimer in the S-conformation of sugar fragments. Luminil-dependent chemiluminescent analysis was used to study the influence of oligomers on the zymosan-induced phagocytosis of P388D1 cells.

Zinc sorption by fibrous carboxylic cation-exchanger from a model solutions of viscose ryon manufacture effluents. pp. 116--119

Summary: Processes have been studied of zinc ions sorption on FIBAN K-4 fibrous carboxylic acid cation-exchanger from solutions of ZnSO4- Na2SO4- H2O used as model ones of viscose rayon manufacture effluents. A study of zinc sorption from solutions containing 0.025 g/l Zn2+ and 2 g/l Na2SO4 by a column technique at a flow rate 10.0 ml/min (8.84 ml/cm2 min) has shown that breakthrough dynamic capacity of the ion-exchanger increases with pH of the solution. Breakthrough curves of zinc obtained at pH in the range of 5.5-7.5 show slight deterioration of zinc sorption dynamics at pH = 7.5. Nevertheless, zinc-containing alkaline solutions have been found to be the most preferable ones for zinc sorption due to a high sorption ability of the ion-exchanger at pH > 7.

Summary: The subject of the work was the efficiency investigation of system prefiltercross-flow membrane module for potable water purification. The knitted filter media "PTTF" was used as prefilter for ultra- and microfiltration membranes. Experimental data show an increase of membrane module output when PTTF filter is used. Membrane module average output growth has a tendency to exponential increasing with increasing of filtrate volume for microfiltration membrane. For ultrafiltration membrane the output growth in the range of 15-20% was observed while for microfiltration membrane it was in the range 50-150%.
