The brochure is a printing version of the Report on Conditions and Prospects of Science Development in the Republic of Belarus in 1996 prepared by the Ministers of the Republic of Belarus and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. It contains the analysis of conditions and prospects of the development of a science in the country in 1996, the appropriate comparisons are also made for 1991--1996.
In the report, the general estimations of scientific and technical potential of Belarus are given, its branch and regional structure, organization and results of scientific and technical activity, their level and problems of patenting are described. The problems of formation of the scientific staff, financing and development of material base, condition of information maintenance of a science, prospect of development of innovative enterprises activity, condition of inclusion of the country in international scientific and technical cooperation are analyzed. The managements of priorities of scientific and technical activity and roles of the state in development of innovations are considered in interrogations of formation of scientific and technical policy of the Republic of Belarus and directions of its improving.
