The issue deals with the urgent problems of development of science and innovation policies. The major directions of research are as follows: technology transfer, development of innovative centres and their infrastructure, problems of intellectual property protection. Essential attention is paid to realisation of innovation policy for countries with economies in transition.

The Conference is devoted to 70th Anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and was organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the State Committee on Science and Technologies of the Republic of Belarus, the State Patent Office of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Enterprise and Investments of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus, the United Nations Office in the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research Belarusian, the Foundation for Inventiveness and Rationalisation Support.
