In the collection devoted to the 12th anniversary since the Chernobyl accident the results of research works on various aspects of Chernobyl' problematics executed in Belarus and also in Russia and Ukraine are given: problems of radiative medicine and risks, radiobiological effects and their forecasting, problems of radioecology and agricultural radiology, decontamination and manipulation with radioactive wastes, socio-economic and psychological problems caused by the accident on Chernobyl NPP.
The Conference was organized by the Ministry on Extreme Situations of the Republic of Belarus, the Commission of Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia on Ecology, Nature Use and Liquidation of Consequences of Failures, the Institute of Radiobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Medical Radiological Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.
From the Introduction:
The accident on Chernobyl NPP has put before a science a number of complex ecological, medical, economic, social, legal and other problems. On their solution the scientific collectives were directed of the victim states, first of all Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.
To the present time the unique actual material about results of radiating influence for the man, animal and vegetative world, components of natural environment is saved significant, in many respects. The scientists and experts appreciate dozes of an irradiation, the combined radiation influence on alive organisms and other factors are investigated, is given the clinical-epidemiological and medical-genetic estimation of a condition of health, the technologies of conducting an agriculture in conditions of radioactive pollution are developed and introduced, the normative base for realization of decontamination works both burial place radioactive wastes and much another is created.
The received results of scientific research are fixed in a basis of acceptance of the decisions of government on realization of protective measures, creation of the Concept of Residing of the Population on is Radioactive the Polluted Territories, acceptance of the Laws, decisions of government and departments.
Despite of the accepted measures many problems remain unsolved. Among them are the remote radioecological and medical-biological consequences, their forecast and reduction. Remain a urgent task of study of small dozes of radiation combined action of an irradiation etc.
It is represented that the present Conference summarizing 12-year's study and overcoming of consequences of failure on Chernobyl NPP will help to understand better a situation and will be useful to the further realization of works on overcoming consequences of the Chernobyl accident.
