Intensive development of a polymeric science, wide application of polymeric materials in engineering and other areas of human activity have resulted that last years interest to various aspects and problems polymeric material science has increased immeasurably. The scientific search in this area of human knowledge is directed on an establishment of mechanical, physical and chemical behaviour of polymeric materials at various external influences and puts by the purpose development of physical-chemical bases of technologies of reception, optimization of structures of polymeric composites, creation of the computer programs for designing the details and units of machines from polymeric composites.
In the collection are published the reports submitted at the International Scientific-Technical Conference "Polymeric composites '98" and reflecting modern problems of physics and physical chemistry of polymeric composite materials, creation of effective technologies of reception of polymeric composites and products from them, estimation of operational properties of polymeric materials and their application in various branches.
The Conference was organized by the Section of Scientific Ñouncil on New Materials of the International Association of Academies of Sciences, the Scientific-Technical Council at Gomel Oblispolkom, the V.A. Belyi Institute of Mechanics of Metal-Polymer Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Institute of Materials Technology of Poznan Technological University (Poland).
