The volume includes more than 30 scientific papers and reviews by Belarusian and foreign researchers obtained during the latest 10 years and reported at the International Symposium in Grodno. The results of pre-clinical studies of the panthenol and other derivatives of pantothenic acid are presented. They demonstrate membrane-protective, disintoxicative, hypolipidemic, flogolytic, radioprotective and antistres properties of these substances. The possibility of their use as the drugs or prophylactic substances for treatment of toxic anthropogenic factor-induced disturbances, for example, low dose irradiation, is shown. The results of clinical trials of pantothenate derivatives in new prescriptions, such as for preoperative patient's preparation, for complex therapy of alcohol-induced diseases, hepato-cellular deficiency, radiodermatitis. The book is of great interest for physicians, pharmacologists, biochemists, and for various professionals participating in production and use of drugs or prophylactic substances and food supplements in the field of medicine of extremal situations, treatment and prevention of radiation-induced disturbances, especially of harmful action of low-dose radiation.
