The abstracts of reports submitted on the International Scientific Conference "Modern Problems of Study, Use and Protection of Natural Complexes of Poles'e (POLES'E '98)" are published. The dynamics of a soil cover and ground resources, problems of melioration and ecology of Poles'e, a modern status and forecast of changes of superficial and underground waters, problems of ecological rehabilitation of lake-marsh complexes of Poles'e, the preservation of a landscape and biological variety of Poles'e are shortly discussed.
The Conference was organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the State Committee on Science and Technologies of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus, the Academy of Agrarian Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian State University.
