In the book, the proceedings of the Belarus-Japan Symposium "Acute and Late Consequences of Nuclear Catastrophes: Hiroshima-Nagasaki and Chernobyl" which was held on October 3--5, 1994 at the Academy of Sciences of Belarus in Minsk, are published. The Symposium was organized by the Institute of Radiobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Minsk, Belarus) and the Citizens' Nuclear Information Center (CNIC) (Tokyo, Japan). There are about 200 scientists from Belarus and other CIS countries as well as 14 scientists from Japan attended the Symposium.
