In the monograph prepared in the Institute of Physiology of NAS of Belarus, the results of research devoted to the decision of a urgent problem of functional morphology -- to finding out of submicroscopic organization of structures of sympathetic ganglia, ensuring performance of physiological reactions in organism are submitted. On the large experimental original material the ultra structure, cytochemical properties and origin of nervous formations making a morphological basis of many-sided functions of sympathetic ganglia is submitted that considerably expands conceptions about their structurally functional organization and makes the important contribution to development of physiology and morphology of vegetative nervous system. In the monograph, the electron-microscopic photos of different elements of sympathetic ganglia are submitted: neurons, glial, chromaffin and tissue-connecting cells, microvessels. A large section is devoted to ultra structure and cytochemistry of devices of transfer of nervous excitation -- synapses, and also for the first time submicroscopic organization of different kinds of receptors of sympathetic ganglia is submitted, the heterogeneity of their chemical properties and origins is established. The monograph is of interest for neurobiologists -- morphologists, physiologists, neuropathologists.
