The monograph prepared in the Institute of Genetics and Cytology of NASB is devoted to problems of genetic safety connected to pollution of biosphere by chemical mutagens. The stages chemical mutagenesis, new data about adducts and DNA reparation, some questions of antimutagens search are considered. The results of study of laws of chemical mutagenesis updating by antimutagens in systems of higher eukaryotes are submitted. In this connection, the most typical problems of a variety of effects antimutagens in relation to mutagens, test systems and intracellular environment, and also the multiplicity of mechanisms of their action are discussed. Large attention is given to influence of antimutagens on reparation processes. The book is intended for experts in the field of general and medical genetics, genetic toxicology and antimutagenesis.
