Gorin (born Kolyada), Pavel Osipovich (15.1.1900 - 25.04.1938), historian, state figure. The academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (1931), Doctor of Historical Sciences (1934).

Graduated from the Ya.M.Sverdlov Communist University (1921) and Institute of Red Professorate (1925). In 1927-1930 employee, Deputy Director of the Institute of History of the Communist Academy, simultaneously the Associate Editor-in-Chief of the magazine "Proletarian Revolution". In 1931-1936 President of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences and simultaneously the Director of the Institute of History of the Academy. From 1936 the Vice-Chairmen of the Educational Committee under USSR Central Executive Committee, and Head of Chair of USSR History at the Moscow State University. In 1931-1936 Member of BSSR Central Executive Committee and its Presidium. In August, 1937 was illegally repressed. Shooted on April 25, 1938. Rehabilitated in 1955.

The basic works on history of Soviets in revolution of 1905-1907 and October revolution. The editor of V.I.Lenin Works in Belarusian Language.

Has published more than 20 works.
