This collection consists of selected main results of research works provided by the scientific institutes and centers of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus during 1992 -- 1996. Although this is only a minor and insufficient part of the scientific achievements of the Academy's scientists, the presented selection illustrates how advances are being made in the principal directions of fundamental scientific investigations in the Academy.
