It has been found that the administration of the cytostatic drug rosevin in combination with vitamins B1 and PP not only leads to an increase in the overall immunologic activity of the organism, but also corrects the metabolic disturbances and reduces the toxic effect of the antitumor drug.
On the basis of comprehensive biochemical and ethologic studies a scheme has been developed which defines the phenomenon of preference to water or ethanol in animals.
In contrast to the earlier existed conception, the possibility of coenzyme A uptake from the incubation mixture by isolated mitochondria has been established for the first time, which provides evidence for a coenzyme penetration through a mitochondrial membrane.
The information has been extended about the molecular-kinetic parameters of 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex enzymes. It has been found that the lipoyl dehydrogenase component of the complex is the site of regulatory effects and can manifest allosteric properties, depending on the conditions.
The close relationship between lipid peroxidation and steroidogenesis in the adrenal cortex have been proved, and the feasibility to decrease the functional activity of the adrenal glands using a-tocopherol has been shown.
The experiments in hypothalamic slices showed that picrotoxin, a blocker of GABAergic synaptic transmission, modulated the impulse activity of warm-sensitive neurons in the preoptic/anterior hypothalamic area.
It was shown that the initial stage of gastric mucosal lesion was accompanied by a diffuse fall of the noradrenaline content in hypothalamic, bulbar, myocardial, adrenal and gastric tissues, and a circulatory change in the gastric mucosa. The results reveal new aspects of neural mechanisms of ulcerogenesis.
The data on realization of the connections of rostral and caudal ventral medullary structures with dorsal medullary nuclei (vestibular nuclei, nucleus tractus solitarii) were obtained. It is found that the interactions of the medullary structures via these connections determine the functioning efficiency of the central homeostatic mechanisms.
New data on biological properties of interleukin-I were obtained. It activates glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase, tricarbonic acid cycle enzymes in different tissues, and increases the blood level of testosterone. In animals pre-exposed to combination of radiation and heat the application of interleukin-I increased the content of catecholamines in thymic and splenic nerve fibers and was not followed by an essential rise in body temperature, testosterone content and a decrease in blood the level of insulin which is characteristic for control animals.
The vibrational characteristics of forearm muscle contractions were obtained, and stimulatory effect of resonance vibrations on blood supply to these muscles was established using spectral phonomyography and vibromyography. Some parameters of central hemodynamics of mean central pressure (peripheral resistance index) and circulatory blood volume were shown to depend on the extent of functional exclusion of skeletal muscles in neurological patients with pareses and paraplegias.
At chronic irradiation in small doses, the rise of adrenergic, serotoninergic and endocrine regulatory systems stress with modification of cardiovascular system reaction to the effect of risk factors, and also the changes in heart's contractility, hemodynamics, microcirculation and reception of steroid hormones, including sex hormones, in cytoplasm and nuclei have been revealed. The level of lymphocytes proliferation and synthesis of principal cytokines by immune-compotent cells are changed conditioning the immunodeficiency formation mechanisms and distortion in acute and chronic inflammatory process under irradiation. The distortion in ontogenesis in utero takes place with discorrelation of development of fetal organs and systems, and increase of frequency of chromosomal reconstructions in cells of male sex organs.
A dependence of water-soluble and labile shares of 137Cs and 90Sr content on organic composition and the type of soil, being the content highest in loamy sand soil and lowest in peaty gley strong humic soil, has been revealed. The dependence influences on the amount of vertical migration accompanied by more significant penetration of accessible to plants 90Sr till 10-cm depth.
The probability to receive effective equivalent irradiation dose of 1 mSv per month by population from inhalation access of 238Pu, 239Pu, 240Pu, 241Pu and 241Am as a result of technogenic (e.g. agricultural works) resuspention has been established.
